    Estes Park retail soars during summer tourist season when population soars to approximately two million inhabitants. When winter and shoulder seasons hit, however, business slumps. The struggle for small businesses is to draw the less than 10K full-time residents into downtown shops once the crowds and traffic dies down.

    One opportunity we identified is to collaborate with other small, affected shops. As we explored that possibility, several concepts surfaced - one of which was a business scavenger hunt for locals. Business scavenger hunts provide a fun way for customers to explore different shops, try on product, meet the staff, pick up some free swag and end at a participating restaurant or coffeeshop. Increased familiarity has been shown to result in return visits and increased sales.
